Browned Butter Cream Cheese Frosting
Makes 2-3 cups

If you've come here from my instagram, chances are you saw the insane carrot cake I made the other day using Inspired Taste's recipe. I decided to use my own frosting recipe however, so I promised to pop it on to the blog. It goes great on cinnamon rolls, cakes, pastries, anything sweet really... ENJOY!

Ingredients
1 cup of European style butter, softened to room temperature
250 grams of cream cheese
3 cups of icing sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
Method
In a light-coloured saucepan (preferably) melt your butter down on a medium heat. Keep the butter on the heat for 6-10 minutes or until the butter reaches a slightly brown colour. You will know when it's done because it will have deep nutty smell and small brown specks will colour the bottom of the saucepan.
Place your melted butter in a bowl in the fridge and leave to set.
When you're ready to make your frosting, whip the set butter until creamy (about 2-3 minutes).
Add in your cream cheese, vanilla, and icing sugar.
Whip the frosting until nice and fluffy (about 6 minutes).
Et voila! Your frosting is ready to use!! Enjoy :)
